Another tree collapses in the streets of Rome. This time the big plant is there crashed right in front of the entrance to the Umberto I polyclinic of the center of the capital, in the north-eastern quadrant. The video was forwarded to Fanpage.it by a reader who noticed the presence of the large trunk crashed onto the asphalt while she was passing along the road.
As seen in the video, the tree collapsed in front of the hospital entrance and is now lying on the asphalt. During the crash the tree, a large plane tree, hit four parked cars and two scooters.
The collapse of the tree and the cordoned off area
As soon as we heard the roar, the alarm went off. The area around the tree was cordoned off and some operators began to surround the plant. The aim now is to make the area safe, ensuring the flow of traffic along the stretch of the road concerned, which remains open to traffic.

Precisely for this reason, as soon as the alarm was raised, the white helmets also arrived on site with the patrols of the II Sapienza Group whose task is to manage traffic in the area. The officers of the Local Police of Rome Capital intervened around 6.15 pm to secure the large plane tree on the road which will soon have to be moved.

But it is not the first example of a large tree collapsing in Rome. From the near-tragedy in front of the rectorate of the University of Rome last April 25th, to more recent examples such as the pine tree that collapsed on the pedestrian crossing in Piazza Bologna. Moving towards the coast, on Cristoforo Colombo last March 19th a very tall pine tree collapsed at the traffic lights, blocking traffic: the crash was caught on video. A few days later, another pine it occupied an entire lane in Acilia.
