Flooded football pitch, renovation work begins

In recent days, work has begun in Meldola to renovate the ‘Tonino Pantieri’ football pitch which had been completely invaded by water during last May’s flood and completely damaged. The municipal administration has, in agreement with the Asd Meldola, planned the renovation of the field with artificial grass and no longer with natural grass in order to have a field that can be used all year round, safer for the children, better from the point of view of technical point of view and with lower maintenance costs. The intervention has a cost of over 363 thousand euros and the works must be completed on July 8th. This intervention, together with the relamping of the light towers with new LED lights completed in recent weeks, will allow the athletes, at the end of the works, to use the field in all weather conditions both during the day and in the evening. The mayor Roberto Cavallucci, the councilor for public works Filippo Santolini and the councilor Matteo Tesei, met with the representatives of the Asd Meldola Luca Ghetti and Marco Mambelli in the stands of the football field at this moment which represents a new beginning after the tragic last year’s flood. Still on the subject of works, the asphalting of Provincial Road 48 is being carried out in the urban section of the municipal territory where the arterial road takes the name of via Sbaraglio. The intervention, long awaited by residents and businesses in the area and made possible thanks to the collaboration of the Province of Forlì-Cesena, will allow the elimination of the swellings and depressions present on the roadway caused by the passage of vehicles and the works carried out over time for the arrangement and installation of underground services. ob
