A 28-year-old woman was transported by air ambulance in code 2 (serious condition) to the Santa Maria alle Scotte hospital in Siena following a head-on accident between two cars which occurred around 2pm today, Tuesday 16 April, on the SS 223 at the Filetta crossroads in the municipality of Sovicille.

The accident involved two cars and caused serious injuries to the woman who, after being pulled from the passenger compartment by the Fire Brigade of the Siena Command, headquarters, was rescued by the medical staff of the 118 ASL Tse.

The 28-year-old was then urgently transported with the Pegaso 1 air ambulance to the Siena hospital. Another person, who was slightly injured, was treated on site by paramedics.

At the site of the accident in the municipality of Sovicille, in addition to the Pegaso air ambulance, two ambulances also intervened, one from the Public Assistance of San Rocco a Pilli and one from the Misericordia of Siena. The Fire Brigade and the police also intervened to make the area safe and carry out the necessary investigations to reconstruct the dynamics of the accident.
