Actor Pruitt Taylor Vince seems to have landed the role of Jonathan Kent, Clark’s adoptive father, in the film directed by James Gunn.

The website The Wrap has in fact published the indiscretion linked to the presence of the actor among the performers of the project with star David Corenswet in the part of the superhero.

Pruitt Taylor Vince is famous for starring in numerous television projects such as Stranger Things, Heroes: Reborn, The Walking Dead and Agents of SHIELD. The actor will play Clark Kent’s adoptive father in Superman.

Jonathan Kent was created by Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster in 1939, among the pages of comics, and is a farmer who lives with his wife on his farm in the town of Smallville, Kansas. He along with Martha adopt Kal-El when he arrives on Earth from Krypton, raising him as their son.

The character was previously played by Glenn Ford in Superman: The Movie, John Schneider in Smallville, Fred Henderson in Superman & Lois, and by Kevin Costner in the DC Extended Universe films.

The new Superman adventure will star David Corenswet as Clark Kent. Alongside him there will also be Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, Wendell Pierce, Maria Gabriela, Skyler Gisondo, Sara Sampaio, Sean Gunn, Edi Gathegi, Anthony Carrigan, Isabela Merced and Nathan Fillion.

The film will see the hero trying to reconcile his Krypton-bound origins with his years spent on Earth in Smallville, Kansas.
