The institute has achieved brilliant results “Verdi – Cafaro” of Andria for the 2023-2024 edition of “Oil in the Chair”the educational project promoted by the National Association of Oil Cities to promote the culture of oil and the olive-growing landscape in elementary and high schools.
More than 100 municipalities have joined, including Andria with the “Verdi-Cafaro” school, the only Andria institute competing for this edition with a total 8 classes, 164 kids. This year’s theme was “EVO Oil as an inclusive language” and for the projects presented “Verdi-Cafaro” took the podium.
In particular: second place for the category BIMBOILwith the work entitled “RicettOlio Merendero” created by the ABCDEFGH Classes 4, because “the students discussed extensively among themselves and in the school community that hosts them, creating a recipe book whose protagonist is Evo Oil which becomes the main ingredient of three typical recipes from other countries”.
“Verdi-Cafaro” won first place for the CHILD JUNIOR category with classes 1 E, 1F, 2F, 3A, 3E, 3F of the lower secondary school, with the essay entitled: “EVO OIL in fair… for all the senses – Multisensory exhibition: The Green Room-The Noises Room-The Taste Room” which wins because it was judged by the jury as an innovative but above all inclusive product that was able to celebrate the synergy created with the territory and with the actors who are part of it.
«A result that consolidates the quality of the path started by the “Verdi-Cafaro” school – declares the mayor Giovanna Bruno – on themes and projects that go beyond strictly didactic activities and which offer children the concrete possibility of enriching their knowledge, experiences and emotions.
We are focusing a lot on the protection and valorization of our roots, first of all the extra virgin olive oil, the main fruit of this land. Already last year the Verdi-Cafaro institute had achieved an important result, rewarded with a free visit to the Borgo della Salute in Montegrosso.
This year, however, the award ceremony is scheduled for May 14th in Rome, at Spazio Europa, in the headquarters of the European Community in Italy. I thank the head teacher, the teachers and the children who are the protagonists of this beautiful page of school life and collective sharing.”
Accompanying the school delegation with its manager will be the mayor and the Radici councilor.
