Bergamo. A sudden illness struck him on Monday morning (April 8) while traveling by bus to the provincial command of via Codussi: He did not make it Francesco Donati, 44 years oldprofessional firefighter.
His condition had immediately appeared desperate when, on Monday morning, Donati collapsed due to a cerebral haemorrhage: it was 6am and although he was not on duty Donati had to go, with some colleagues from theUsar (Urban search and rescue), to Milan to participate in an exercise.
Transferred to hospital Pope John XXIII, died yesterday morning. The doctors performed the organ harvesting, a wish expressed by the firefighter himself: his organs will now be able to improve (or save) the lives of other people.
Francesco Donati lived there with his partner Zaira and the two children – Daniel And CamillaOf 11 And 14 years – in via Puccinito Longuelo.
The provincial fire brigade commander, Vincenzo Giordanooffered the command for the preparation of the chapel of rest, open from this afternoon (April 12). The funeral will be celebrated in the parish church of Longuelo on Monday at 10.
