Syracuse. An Iacp apartment burns down: a woman in hospital

Fire late yesterday evening in an apartment in an Iacp building in via Don Luigi Sturzo, in Syracuse.
The fire broke out shortly before midnight inside the bedroom of a woman’s home, spreading quickly and releasing increasingly dense smoke. The firefighters of the provincial command in via Von Platen (three teams in action) had to enter through the window, located on the fourth floor, to then put out the flames, not without difficulty. After rescuing the woman, who was taken to the Umberto I hospital in Syracuse, the highest floors of the building were evacuated as a precaution. Over an hour and a half of work by the rescuers. She didn’t make it, unfortunately, a cat, burned by the fire.
It is not excluded that the fire started due to an electrical short circuit, probably due to the malfunction of a stove but checks are underway to trace the origin of the fire. The measurements carried out immediately after the shutdown clearly revealed the extensive damage. The bedroom furniture was completely destroyed. The apartment is currently not accessible. The other families, however, were able to return to their homes immediately after the intervention of the firefighters.
