“I thank all the Members for the wonderful day you gave to the AEC Lazio Association, with your commitment it will be possible to do everything, even those that sometimes seem impossible.
We have brought into our partnership the Mayor of Cassino, the president of the Banca Popolare del Cassinate and the 3rd Bondone Army Regiment, the AEC National Councilor Gennaro Bernardo of Milan and friends from Rome and the provinces of Rieti and Viterbo.
We shared our mission with them, which is indicated in our Statute, in particular the European Railways Association constitutes a vast movement of opinion which, by acting as an interpreter of community programs in transport policy, intends to actively influence the decisions of railway companies and national and European political authorities, so that these programs are implemented. The European Railways Association pursues non-profit purposes and deals with social activities in general and volunteering in Italy and Europe. These tasks are carried out through concrete initiatives such as the organization of study courses, training internships, conferences and debates, visits to railway facilities.
We talked about the Euroferr Prize and the beauty of the territories. The Euroferr award therefore turns out to be a recognition of the quality of the territory centered on soft mobility, intermodality between services, culture, landscape and networking with neighboring territories. I also remember the activities that AEC Lazio will follow in the entire Region:
– the events that will concern the possible reopening of the Civitavecchia – Capranica – Orte railway line in synergy with the committee for the reopening of the line in close collaboration with the historical figure of the line, the president Raimondo Chiricozzi of Ronciglione in the province of Viterbo (the most beautiful village in ‘Italy)
– the XXXIII edition of the San Bernardino railway poetry prize in Stimigliano, province of Rieti
– cultural collaborations with the historic Potlach Theater of Fara in Sabina in Reatino and with the Francesco Sacco Association of Passo Corese made up of railway workers
– the rehabilitation of the former Cassino locomotive depot. What we did today, all together, is just the beginning.”
