“Alliance for the city” takes hold: can Scerra run as a candidate for mayor?

Frost. Priority to the territory and without diktats from the outside. “Alliance for the city” takes shape. The travails of a center-right excessively tied to the desires of Palermo and Rome are fueling even more a political and administrative project outside the blocs, especially that of the official center-right. Four civic lists, as we reported yesterday, and a candidate for mayor to be supported as an expression of a project closely linked to the city: these are the assumptions on which the project is based. Municipal councilors such as Gabriele Pellegrino and the current president of the civic assembly Salvatore Sammito are involved in the development of the alliance. The big names in the votes from five years ago appear not to be willing to wait any longer for the steps of the party bureaucracy. A move that is also significantly affecting the former Ars parliamentarian Pino Federico and other political expressions of the city, including in the city council which is preparing to close the 2019 mandate. The liberals have chosen to stay with it and there are professionals close to the group , like Paolo Comandatore. There would have been a request addressed to the city councilor Salvatore Scerra. The pressure is to ensure that he accepts the candidacy for mayor. Moreover, the Melonian did not hide his disappointment at FdI’s no and already five years ago he was in the running to lead the centre-right coalition. He too was among the most supported at the polls in 2019: second overall behind only Pellegrino.
