Paradox has announced the permanent cancellation of Life by Youthe life simulator often compared with the much better known series The Sims.
Life By You was scheduled to launch in Early Access on June 4, however Paradox had postponed the game’s arrival indefinitely. The one on May 20th was already the third announcement of a postponement of the life simulator: it was initially scheduled for September 2023, then March 5 this year, and finally June 4. Paradox stated that the game showed “major improvements” with each delay, but that the road to debut had become “too long and uncertain”.
“A few weeks ago, we decided to delay the Early Access release to re-evaluate Life by You, as we still felt the game had gaps in some key areas. While a time extension was an option, once we took that break to have a broader view of the game, it became clear to us that the road to a launch we were confident about was too long and uncertain.
That’s not to say the game didn’t have promising qualities: Life by You had a number of strengths and the hard work of a dedicated team that helped make them happen. However, when we got to the point where we realized that the elapsed time wasn’t going to get us close enough to a version we’d be happy with, we thought it best to stop. This is obviously difficult and disappointing for everyone who has dedicated time and enthusiasm to this project, especially when our decision comes so late in the process.”these are the declarations with which Paradox puts an end to the development of Life by You.
