5% shareholder (and 95% belongs to his son Rocco)

Dagospia opens the capital to its deputy director. Roberto D’Agostino(75 years old) founder and sole director, and his son Rocco (29) owner of 100% of the capital, have launched an operation to issue shares assigned free of charge to Riccardo Panzetta43 years old, for over 13 years in the editorial team (7 journalists) of the very popular news, background and press review site launched in 2000 (the Dagospia company was born on 19 June 24 years ago).

5% after Rocco

Panzetta enters with 5%, a small share but significant because it is the only shareholder other than Rocco D’Agostino. The operation is in line with what «Dago» himself had anticipated: «I do what I like – the founder of the online magazine said in an interview in November – “testament” to Italy Today – I have a wonderful editorial team, with my deputy Riccardo Panzetta, and they will continue after me. My son Rocco is a scientist, he loves that job (engineer at Pirelli ed) and he doesn’t care absolutely anything about Dagospia. He is 100% master, he will decide what to do.”

Very high margins

A few weeks ago Rocco “dropped” to 95% of a company which in 2023 recorded the usual very high margins: 800 thousand euros of profit on 2.2 million in revenues (in 2022 680 thousand on 2.6 million), with a net worth of 4.3 million and negligible debts.

Dago’s salary

Roberto «Dago» D’Agostino, despite not having a single share of ownership, is the soul of the news site but also, more concretely, the sole director of Dagospia spa, with an annual salary of approximately 300 thousand euros.

Furthermore, the company has a very conservative earnings policy: few dividends, substantial reserves. The Dagospia (.it and .com domain) and Cafonal brands were revalued in 2020 from zero to, respectively, 600 thousand and 240 thousand euros.
