The remake of the legendary Snake Eaterthat is to say Metal Gear Solid Deltareturned to show itself at the Xbox Games Showcase 2024.
The Konami saga recently returned to the Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1 (which you can buy on Amazon), but he still has something to say.
The trailer shown yesterday showed a fair amount of faithfulness to the original game, as well as hinting at various structural and non-structural innovations.
Now, as also reported by GamingBolt, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eaterwhile maintaining the same story, voices, music and gameplay that defined the original, will offer some new features and improvements.
The official website revealed an updated battle damage system which can leave permanent scars after injuries.
However, Konami has also confirmed a new “more modern” control style.
While not explicitly outlined, this will allow players to “focus entirely on the gameplay and the immersive thrills of the survival stealth experience.”
Of course it is present Classic control schemewhich “more faithfully recreates the feel of the original game.”
There is also one new third person camera who will follow Naked Snake, zooming in on the shoulder when aiming.
Naturally, those who prefer to use the classic overhead camera – as in the original game – will be able to opt for that without any problem (even if nowadays such a view can appear at least antiquated and at times frustrating).
In any case, extended gameplay will be broadcast on the official Xbox Podcast on June 11th, so stay tuned for further details on the remake which promises to overshadow the much-criticized remake of Silent Hill 2which however has a release date.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will launch this year for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. According to rumors, there could be a delay, pushing the launch to 2025.
