Huawei’s new smartphone series has been attracting attention for a while now.
After launching in China and entering the global market, despite the lack of Google Mobile Services, the recently renamed Huawei Pura 70 Ultra has retained its renowned reputation for excellence in photography, a crucial aspect for the high-end smartphones produced by the company.
The device was recognized as best photography phone from DXOMark, a result that shouldn’t be surprising at this point.
Pura 70 Ultra reached the top in all categories in the tests conducted, setting new standards in both the “Ultra Premium” and overall categories.
Emerge leaders
At the moment, Pura 70 Ultra dominates the top of the ranking, 5 distances from the second place, Honor Magic6 Pro, also coming from the Huawei sphere, despite the fact that Honor separated from the main brand in 2020.
The tests conducted by DXOMark have highlighted numerous positive aspects of the premium phone, demonstrating how the Chinese company still manages to offer an excellent photographic experience despite no longer being considered mainstream.
The phone achieved a score of 169 in the photography sector and 148 in the video sector, with excellent results for exposure, colour, noise and blur.
In terms of video, although it is 10 points behind the leader iPhone 15 Pro Max, it far surpasses other competitors such as the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

Huawei Pura 70 Ultra demonstrated excellent performance both outdoors and indoors, even in low light conditions.
It particularly stood out in the “Friends and Family” category, showing itself ready for those who want to capture informal moments; It must be said, however, that in order to obtain the title of best photography phone, it impressed the DXOMark testers in all aspects.
The photos were defined as exceptional, with a detailed and natural rendering, thanks to the wide 1 inch main sensor and the variable aperture of the main camera (f/1.6~f/4.0).
L’autofocus it has proven to be fast and reliable, allowing you to capture every moment with the right precision.
Although some small flaws have been highlighted such as noise in videos and ghosting with moving subjects, it remains one of the best options on the market for those looking for a high-quality camera on a smartphone.
The phone has been available in Italy for a week, with different memory options and a list price of €1,499.
