It has been known for decades that the Earth is undergoing negative changes, but now a new, very worrying detail is emerging
The climatic variations have brought notable changes to the ecosystem, which is progressively deteriorating, and are having frightening effects to say the least which, in the long term, will lead to Earth to decidedly unpleasant situations both for the environment and for human beings.
Just think of the seasons which, even if it may seem like a cliché, practically no longer exist: the winters I’m always less rigidand the summers are more and more torrid. Without a real period of climatic adjustment between one season and the next, with the result that one day you find yourself wearing sandals and the next a snow jacket.
In fact, the Earth is undergoing slow but inexorable global warming, which is causing chain reactions which, yes, depend on higher temperatures and therefore are reflected in the morphology of Planet as well as on the climate, but which also have side effects that are unpredictable to say the least and whose occurrence no one would have expected.
A second more, or a second less? It’s an alarm
The glaciers at the poles are melting, and this has been known for decades. The cause is naturally global warming, which has now become truly important, so much so as to modify the morphology of terrestrial areas such as the North Pole, whose ice is less and less and the ocean level has risen dangerously.
What many do not know is that this polar melting is also gradually influencing the earth’s rotation: the melting of the ice is in fact moving the earth’s mass from Polo shirt, as is natural, at the center of the Earth, causing a slowdown of 2.5 milliseconds per day compared to atomic time. This slowdown could lead to the solution of adding a “negative leap second” to clocks around the world, in order to keep astronomical and atomic time intact.
This phenomenon, according to experts, depends on the Earth’s core, which appears as a ball of molten material, such as magma, which is largely responsible for the speed of the Earth’s rotation. Changes affecting the timing of the rotation have therefore caused great uncertainty in the prediction of Earth’s weather, which apparently is also influenced by climate change. Already in 1972 it had become necessary to add a leap second in June or December to maintain alignment between astronomical and atomic time.
