Krafton, the development house known for its innovative titles, is working on a new project titled inZOI, intended to directly compete with the popular life simulation game The Sims (for which we are awaiting news on the fifth chapter). This game promises to introduce unique elements to the genreoffering users a deeply immersive and interactive gaming experience.
The latest update from the development team revealed a number of new features that will be present at launch. These include customizable vehicles, group activities, a karma system, a city editing tool, a built-in recording studio and a photo mode. If we consider that the game is still in development, these previews are already enough to arouse the interest of fans of the genre.
The characteristics of inZOI
inZOI director Hyungjin Kim pointed out the importance of introducing cars into the game, an element highly requested by The Sims community. Unlike what happens in titles like Grand Theft Auto, the driving system in this title was designed keeping in mind the simulation nature of the game: following traffic laws, but with caution to avoid potential accidents. However, the game offers the possibility of using automatic saves to restore the character in case of accidental death.
The group activity represent another interesting new addition, allowing players to go on walks, participate in karaoke nights, visit cafes and much more together with their characters.
An important innovation is then given by karma/reputation system, which affects the actions performed by the player, both in the presence of other characters and alone. For example, negative actions such as pushing someone and stealing their wallet will result in karma consequences, affecting the game’s development.
L’city editor is another distinctive feature of inZOI, which allows users to change the climate, play YouTube videos on billboards, customize flora and fauna and manage street cleaning, making the city a real playable character.
In addition, the game will offer a Study tools, designed for those who want to create scenarios, videos and screenshots using a variety of realistic photographic options, simulating different situations such as journalistic reports or airplane travel. Finally, Krafton stands developing plugins to facilitate the creation of mods through the Unreal Engine, with step-by-step guides and dedicated tools that will be made available at launch.
