Using our customized generative AI model, and a healthy dose of imagination (and prompts suitable to achieve the purpose), we tried to hypothesize the appearance of PS5 PRO, the increasingly rumored mid-gen model of PlayStation 5 which would destined to arrive on the market at the end of 2024.
Tired of the usual PS5 PRO renderings and mockups that have been circulating online for months now, we wondered if, thanks to the tools integrated into the most advanced generative AI models, it wasn’t possible to open a window onto the future and take a peek at the hypothetical form factor and the look of Sony’s next platform.
Judge for yourself the results that we have managed to obtain using generative AI, upscaling systems and graphics processing software, the latter essential for ‘cleaning’ images of excessive logos, artefacts and related inconsistencies, for example example, the double disc trays or the unnatural layout of the controller buttons.
By carefully observing the shots generated by Artificial Intelligence it is possible to notice ‘design patterns’ that are repeated in each image, such as the inevitable references to the form factor of the current PlayStation 5 models and the appearance of Sony controllers such as the PS4’s DualShock and the current DualSense.
Due to the iconic design of PlayStation 5, and belonging to the same family of devices, presumably PS5 PRO will have a very similar appearance to that of current Sony consoles. In any case, if with the new PS5 Slim the Japanese technological giant has tried to make small changes to the original design, theAI virtual eye sees PS5 PRO as one console with more generous dimensions and a monolithic form factorbut with aesthetic characteristics that inevitably refer to the current PlayStation 5.
Curiously, among the many images generated by AI (which as such, it is worth underlining, they don’t show real products) is completely missing one of the most likely aesthetic changes for the mid-gen model of PS5, namely the color change: nothing, in fact, prevents Sony from maintaining the current form factor of PlayStation 5 (especially the launch model) by giving PS5 PRO a ‘total black’ color broken only by the blue lights produced by the buttons and, obviously, by the LEDs that run along the central grille of the console.
