Price cut of 100 and 150 euros for Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra, the new top of the range with advanced Leica photographic sector

Xiaomi has unveiled its new flagship range for 2024, with the standard 14 model and the Ultra variant at the top. While sharing some key features, such as the powerful chipset Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and the memory option it provides 512 GB of storagethe two devices differ substantially in several aspects, starting with the greater RAM on the Ultra model (16 vs 12 GB).

Xiaomi 14 mounts a 6.36 inch OLED panel with resolution FHD+ (1200×2670 pixels) and density of 460ppi. This is an LTPO unit with variable refresh rate up to 120Hz, HDR10+ support, Dolby Vision and peak brightness of 1000 nits typical and 3000 nits peak. The Xiaomi 14 Ultra instead raises the bar with a large screen 6.73-inch LTPO AMOLED in QHD+ resolution (1440×3200 pixels) and density of 522ppi, maintaining the same refresh rate and HDR specifications as the base model, but using advanced protection Xiaomi Ceramic Glass for maximum resistance to scratches and falls.

The photographic sector is another great point of differentiation. The 14 bets on one 50MP triple camera with 1/1.31″ Sony IMX890 main sensor, f/1.6 aperture, OIS optical stabilization and Dual Pixel PDAF, flanked by a 50MP telephoto lens with 3.2x optical zoom and OIS and a 50MP f/2.2 14mm ultra-wide angle lens. The 14 Ultra instead sports a quadruple system at the highest levels: the main sensor is a huge 1-inch unit with 50MP resolution, f/1.6-4.0 aperture and liquid eye for focusing, accompanied by two 50MP telephoto lenses – one with a 75mm 3.2x zoom and the other with a 120mm 5x optical zoom, both with OIS – finally a 50MP ultra-wide angle f/1.8 from 12mm. All Ultra optics are signed by the partner Leica, who also collaborated on the development of the image processing. Video recording goes up to 8K at 30fps with Ultra.

For autonomy, Xiaomi 14 focuses on a 4610mAh battery with 90W wired and 50W wireless fast charging. The 14 Ultra model does even better with a 5000mAh drive 5000mAh, supporting 90W wired charging and a powerful 80W wireless solution. Both allow reverse wireless charging.
