Aston Martin DBX: changes more inside than outside

DIGITAL AND ANALOGUE – Two years after launch it’s already time to update for theAston Martin DBX. The English company changes little on the outside of its high-performance SUV, however intervening with a series of improvements dedicated to the interior, which have been completely revised. Starting from the new generation infotainment system, which allows greater connection and customization possibilities. The multitouch screens Pure Black, with a 12-inch instrument panel and a 10.25-inch central one, integrate features such as wireless Apple CarPlay, USB-C and various online services that can be accessed via the official application. Next to the displays, the physical controlsdedicated to key operations while driving, such as gear selection, transmission control, heating and ventilation.

A MATTER OF DETAILS – The restyling of the interior of the Aston Martin DBX followed the philosophy used on the DB12 and Vantage with the aim of creating a harmonious and welcoming environment. The dashboard it is characterized by a horizontal line that divides the upper part from the lower part. The entire cabin oozes with craftsmanship and the use of chrome materials, textured finishes and a simpler center console design add a touch of elegance, balancing sportiness and luxury. Every detail has been revised, from the steering wheel to the D-pull door handles and vertical air vents. For example, the panels of covering of the front doors have been enlarged and are available in different materials, including glossy funé oak, and finishes, such as ziricote wood and carbon fibre. L’Aston Martin DBX707 it can count on an 800 W audio system with 14 speakers as standard. For true audiophiles, an optional system developed with Bowers & Wilkins is available, designed specifically for the interior of the sports SUV: a 23-channel surround system and 1,600 W dual amplification, with 3D speakers and integrated subwoofer.

NEW COLORS – They debut outside 5 new colors (Epsilon Black, Helios Yellow, Sprint Green, Malachite Green and Aura Green, as well as the addition of Podium Green, exclusively on the DBX707 AMR23 Edition) and two finishes for the 23-inch wheels (Satin Black for the Fortis wheels and Copper Bronze for Forged rims). They are also new handles of the doors, which come out when the car is unlocked, and the rear-view mirrors with flush glass, inside which cameras are integrated that support 3D parking assistance.

TOUCHES TO THE SETUP – It doesn’t change the Twin-turbo V8 of 4 liters from 707 HP combined with the 9-speed automatic transmission, which remains theonly variant available, capable of pushing the Aston Martin DBX from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds. However, English engineers tried to improve dynamics with a new calibration of the electronic shock absorbers and air springs. According to the technicians, this has led to improved body control, increasing the dynamism of the English SUV.
