Pokémon GO: the new, more inclusive avatars infuriate some players

This week Niantic updated Pokémon GO introducing gods new avatarsdesigned to reproduce the features of the players with greater realism, so as to be more inclusive. Unfortunately, not everyone liked them, in particular due to the fact that some elements that worsen the appearance of existing avatars need to be revised.

Incidentally, the new update makes the avatars less athletic and forces the transition to the new models, which do not add to the old ones, but replace them. So we have smaller breasts for female characters, flatter waists and bellies, and more realistic faces.

Before and after

Indeed the difference in some cases it is evident, as you can see in the examples below:

L’character editor It still offers sliders to alter different parts of the body, but it seems to be impossible to obtain results similar to those seen before the update.

Obviously many users went wild on Reddit, where the game’s official channel was flooded with comparisons between avatars.

Beyond the “appearances” issue, many have also highlighted another aspect of discontent: Pokémon GO is a game that sells many cosmetic items for real money and many have purchased them for their old avatars, therefore trying them on them. After the update, many do not perform as well.

Another problem, evidently overlooked during the testing phase, is that some of the new costumes produce strange effects in thegenital area. Obviously it’s all in the perception of the viewer, but nevertheless it is helped a lot, as you can see in the image above.
