Is your iPhone about to shut down? Don’t panic: solve everything like this

An almost empty iPhone, without the possibility of recharging it, can really be a problem. Fortunately, there is a simple and quick remedy that allows you to overcome this unpleasant situation: continue reading to find out how.

Even in the first quarter of 2024, smartphone sales data showed that Among the phones most purchased by Italian consumers are iPhones. In particular, those with a slightly higher budget choose to focus on the latest generation iPhones, namely the iPhone 15 that Apple launched on the market last autumn. Nowadays the most modern iPhones are truly equipped with sensational technical data sheets. Apple is increasingly innovating its phones, what time they are a real guarantee also in terms of autonomy. The most recent iPhones, in fact, are equipped with batteries that ensure users can use them until the end of the day.

However, a day can happen where you tend to use your iPhone much more than expected, thus causing greater battery consumption. In situations like these it is not uncommon you find yourself with your device with low battery already in the middle of the day. It is not a problem if we are at home or if we still have the possibility to charge our iPhone.

What to do if your iPhone is about to turn off

The situation is different if we are travelling, queuing at the bank, on the street or in any other place where we don’t have the possibility to recharge our phone. What to do when the device is now one step away from turning off? Fortunately there is a remedy that can be very useful.

We must first click on the Quick Commands app on our iPhone. After opening this application we need to go to Automations and then click on the New Automation option that will appear with the new screen. A menu will open: we need to scroll down and look for the Battery Level option.

After finding it, click on it to then choose the ‘Lower than’ item. We will immediately notice a lever located in the upper part: let’s move it as much as possible to the left, until it drops to 5%. Once this step is completed we can press Run immediately and then Next.

When there is very little battery left you can solve this

The procedure is not yet finished. The next step is to click on New empty automation, then on Add action and then on the search bar again to search for WhatsApp. Click on Send message: in the text to be sent you can write something to inform you that the iPhone is about to turn off. All that remains is to add the recipient of the message, i.e. the person we want it to reach.

Now press on Get current position and then on Get Maps URL: you will try WhatsApp again to send the message, this time leaving ‘Maps URL’ unchanged. However, we must click on it to change URL to Text. You can now send the message to the same recipient.

Thanks to this simple method when the iPhone drops below 5% it will send a message to the contact (or contacts) that we have chosen to let people know where we are.
