Federico Bonacchi, from Milan born in 2004 for 186 cm will be the setter who, together with Àngel Trinidad, will orchestrate the rossoblù next season. President Bongiovanni’s club once again invests in promising young athletes ready to spend themselves on the field to acquire knowledge, experience and great ambitions.

Bonacchi wore the Under 19 Diavoli Powervolley shirt and made his debut in Serie A with the A3 Gamma Chimica Brugherio team, to then move to the Milanese ranks at Allianz, behind the emerging blue under Porro.

Growing up in the youth team of Volley Segrate, in recent years he had become one of the athletes on whom the Diavoli – Powervolley collaboration was based, which resulted in his transition to the first team with Allianz Powervolley Milano.

He has achieved many goals with the youth teams, with clubs and with the Under 19 junior national team, with whom he won the 2020 European Championship. A very interesting curriculum for the young setter who boasts a U17 championship, a U19 national bronze medal and the best setter in Italy U19. These are just some of the many successes achieved by the young talent Bonacchi in his volleyball career, to which he adds in the 2022/23 season where he joined Paolo Porro in the direction arriving in the semifinals of the championship by beating Perugia and giving Lube Civitanova a hard time up to race 5.

Since last season he has already tasted the atmosphere of the Allianz Powervolley first team, and of the Superlega, in a solid environment and a company that has distinguished itself by beating great battleships.

“Taranto has a good project – Federico Bonacchi declares – and I think I will be able to give the team a good hand by showing up with a great desire to improve both on the pitch and as a person. It is my first time in a city far from home, and it will be a good challenge for me and my personal and professional growth. As far as the championship is concerned, I believe that if we manage to find the right team feeling and the desire to always remain united both in good times and above all in less good times, we will be able to achieve satisfactory goals.”

Sports director Mirko Corsano explains the reasons for choosing the young talent as director:

“Bonacchi is part of the shrewd project that Gioiella Prisma is carrying out with a mix of experts and young people with enthusiasm and great prospects: he falls right into this second category of budding athletes who will make themselves available to the team and with large margins of growth. You will be able to take your time to earn all the consideration and esteem of the group it deserves and understand how to fit in by learning a lot from the team and from the daily work. We hope that the group, the environment in the gym and the team can facilitate this integration. He was part of well-organized teams such as Diavoli Rosa di Brugherio and Allianz Milano, demonstrating his ability to orchestrate a team with personality, as with other young players such as Lorenzo Sala, we have given importance to these additions and bet with great confidence and optimism on them. It’s the first time they’ve moved away from home and they’ll get all the attention and care they need, we’ll put them at ease so they can best express themselves in our reality and be able to get involved with all the skills they’ve already acquired over the years” .
