Cus Genova Rugby in mourning, farewell to Pietro Imperiale

“An unbridgeable void. An unparalleled sadness.” This is how Cus Genova Rugby wanted to say goodbye to Pietro Imperiale, player and coach of the Genoa team, who passed away today. The farewell came through a post on the red and whites’ social media which continues as follows: “Today Pietrone Imperiale, player and coach of our boys, passed away. The Rosary will be tomorrow at 5.30pm and the Funeral on Saturday at 10am, both in the Church of Immaculate Conception in Via Assarotti in Genoa”.

On Instagram the club remembers him with these words: “With enormous regret we announce the premature death of Pietro Imperiale, the backbone of Cus Genova rugby. We have lost a player from the First Team, a coach for our youth teams, an educator for the guys from the summer camp, but above all one of us. Hi Pietrone, we already miss you.”

A mourning that affects the entire world of Ligurian rugby, the memory comes, again through social media, from Pro Recco Rugby, historic opponent of CUS: “With pain in its heart, Pro Recco Rugby joins the mourning of CUS Genova Rugby, of family and friends for the passing of the young Pietro Imperiale, loyal opponent of a thousand battles and magnificent boy, a true rugby lover who will be missed by all.” A message also arrives from Amatori Rugby Genoa under the post published by Cus Genova: “We are close to you in this sad moment”.
