Franco Smith’s Glasgow Warriors have been at the top of the URC rankings for months now, and it’s not the first time they’ve had a sniff of first place. However, it seemed that Leinster would be able to defend it, had it not been for the collapse suffered in South Africa at the hands of the Lions last round. The simultaneous victory of the Scots brought them dangerously close to just one length away.
Also on this 15th day, Leinster will be involved in the difficult trip to South Africa, this time against the Stormers. The Glasgow Warriors therefore have the chance to overcome them, facing a more accessible opponent like the Zebre.
For coach Roselli’s team, however, it will not be at all easy to break the streak of defeats in URC that has lasted since the end of last November. Being able to score some bonus points would still be useful for the race to avoid last place and give a signal in front of their fans.
