The Internazionali d’Italia Series who since last year have returned to embrace the Alpago Bike Funtastic, the three-day all-mountain bike event organized in Chies d’Alpago (BL), after the tricolor day of the Relay team on Friday, today, Saturday 29 June, they had the the last event of the season, theAlpago Trophy. Overall, Tommaso Bosio just needed to reach the finish line to win the circuit as he dominated it with 215 points scored in the first three stages, two of which he won. From afar he was followed by Elia Rial with 150 points, third with 135 Giulio Peruzzo. Among the 73 starters, the unknown was represented by foreigners given that the race was included as a test of the UCI Junior Series.

They were the ones who got off to a flying start, after starting at 9.30 on a hot and muggy day. Halfway through the first lap, five took the lead while the first two Italians Rial and Fabbro followed nine seconds behind, leading the group.

The breakaway was then stopped and at the finish line everyone was in single file but in front there were always riders who didn’t chew Dante’s tongue. The Swede Unger, the Hungarian Vas and the Czech Friedel were followed by Peruzzo who at that moment was the first Italian, behind him the Spaniard Ferran and the Austrian Hofer and the German Schmidt, the second Italian to pass was Fabbro.

Then the race changed thanks to Giulio Peruzzo, in the second lap only the Hungarian Vas remained on his wheel who then dropped away and therefore after three laps he passed alone followed 18 seconds behind by a quintet: Bosio, Fabbro, Cavezzan and the foreigners Hofer and Vas.

Then it seemed to glimpse the usual script, Bosio who starts slowly but then gets into gear and overtakes everyone. He broke away from the group and almost caught up with Peruzzo who however on the renewed track of Chies d’Alpago opened the gas again bringing the Alessandria native wearing the red jersey of leader of the circuit back to a safe distance.

At the end after six laps and 1 hour 3 minutes and 55 seconds the gap between the winner Giulio Peruzzo (Loris Bike) e Thomas Bosio (Ciclistica Trevigliese) was 27 seconds. The former received the satisfaction of the stage success and the latter received the 2024 edition of the Internazionali d’Italia Series. First in San Zeno di Montagna and Esanatoglia, second both in Nervesa della Battaglia and today in Chies d’Alpago.

Interesting technical note, the Spanish brand Berria Bikes continues to get noticed with its full bikes. In the world cup we saw the German Julian Schelb with the new Mako, the one with the hidden Scott Spark style shock absorber while today Peruzzo won with the previous model.

Below the finish line after 43 seconds, third place went to the Friulian Ettore Fabbro (KTM Protek Elettrosystem), fourth to the Czech David Friedel, fifth to Elia Rial of the Scott Racing team.
