Here comes the alternative to the Harley that costs significantly less: this cruiser won’t make you regret the premium brands.

The cruiser motorcycle market is dominated by a name so big that it makes any Italian, foreign and American competitor tremble. We’re talking about by Harley Davidsona Milwaukee company that recently celebrated 120 years of activity and continues to churn out classic products with an eye to the future: its commitment with LiveWire in the electric two-wheeler sector, for example, is really interesting for enthusiasts of the sector.

If anything, it is less experienced or wealthy buyers who are holding them back high prices of the two wheels offered by the North American company which rarely go below 10 thousand euros, despite discounts and offers. Fortunately, there is no shortage of low cost alternatives for those who perhaps don’t pay much attention to the brand but are interested in a certain type of motorcycle regardless of who produces it.

The ultimate cruiser comes from China, but look, produced by the Jonway company which has an official website on which you can consult the price list. In this, we find a couple of interesting cruisers very similar visually that can constitute a low-cost alternative to the classic two-wheelers of the American manufacturer or other hot names in the sector, let’s immediately see what we are talking about.

The house you should know

Although there isn’t a lot of information on these products on the site, Jonway has already attracted the attention of the European press. This thanks to his V-5 model, a cruiser available in two configurations. We have the YY-250 with a 250 cc engine – perhaps a little small for this type of two-wheeler – and the YY-400 with a 400 cc engine that you can see in the photo – which is perhaps the most interesting of the lot.

This model boasts a 465 cc engine with a displacement of 45 horsepower: it will not be a worthy power of a Harley Davidson is true but the price acts as a leveler for the difference in performance. In fact, this model which unfortunately is not yet available in Europe costs the equivalent in Yuan of 4,000 euros, a cost which is a fraction of what many Western brands ask for a similar but more powerful model.

On board we have an endowment not bad: the two-wheeler uses a six-speed sequential gearbox with an engine equipped with a Gates belt for transmission. There is no shortage of LED lights and an infotainment screen for the driver. The net weight of the motorcycle is 209 kilograms while the maximum speed is all in all honest with 140 kilometers per hour of maximum sprint reachable by the motorcycle.
