RUGBY. Lautaro Bazan Velez at Benetton
Benetton Rugby confirms the signing of Lautaro Bazan Velez. The 28-year-old Argentine attacking midfielder has signed a contract that will tie him to the green and white franchise from 1 July 2024 to 30 June 2025 with an option for the following sporting season. Bazan Velez is Benetton Rugby’s fifth signing of the 2024/2025 transfer campaign. This is a scrum-half in the midst of developing his career. He possesses a remarkable speed, an excellent foot game and constant precision when passing: the Pumas will guarantee an additional precious resource between the three quarters.
RUGBY. Enrico Pontarini and Matteo Rubinato at Mogliano Veneto
Mogliano Veneto Rugby announces the arrival of Enrico Pontarini and Matteo Rubinato among the white and blue forwards. Pontarini is a second line, he started playing rugby at 7 years old in Leonorso Rugby Udine, where he played all the youth teams. Last year he played with Rangers Vicenza. Enrico also has 8 caps under his belt with the Under 20 national team, including the Six Nations and the World Cup in the category. Matteo Rubinato is a third line, he has been playing rugby since he was 8 years old. He participated in the national youth selections U18 / U19 / U20 and with the latter he participated in two 6 Nations category, Summer Series U20 and World U20. He was part of the Benetton Treviso U23 Academy for two years.
WOMEN’S BASKETBALL. Aghilarre first new face of NPT
The first addition of the 2024/2025 season of the Nuova Pallacanestro Treviso arrives from Rome: the orange club welcomes Benedetta Aghilarre. Born in 2005, Aghillare is one of the purest talents of the new generations, and has already been part of the youth national teams for several years, having worn the blue shirt since the Under16 Selection. Raised in the youth sector of Basket Roma, Aghilarre was a protagonist in the last season with the Capitoline club in the A2 series championship, finishing with 311 points scored (over 10 on average per game).
ATHLETICS. Countdown to Run51
The “Run51” takes flight: there will be around three thousand participants in the running event which will take place on Sunday 23 June inside the “Vittorio Bragadin” military airport in Istrana. An event dedicated to all athletes, both competitive and non-competitive, whose proceeds, after deducting organizational costs, will be donated to the Fondazione Città della Speranza in Padua. The day’s program includes a 10 kilometer run, on a Fidal approved route, and a non-competitive test, at a free pace, choosing between 10 and 6 kilometres. The route will develop entirely within the airport, also involving the areas normally used by Eurofighters during taxiing and take-off phases.
