Team corratec-Vini Fantini, Niccolò Bonifazio announces retirement at the end of 2024: “Just as everything begins, everything has an end”

Niccolò Bonifazio will retire at the end of 2024. Professional since 2014, the current representative of Team corratec – Vini Fantini will therefore hang up his bike at the end of this season which saw him return to racing for an Italian team after eight years in foreign teams after saying goodbye to Lampre – Merida, with which he had made the big leap. Able to achieve 21 successes, among which a stage at Paris – Nice and the Tour of Poland stand out, he has been able to win almost every year since his arrival in the category, missing the appointment with success only in 2017.

“I think that a farewell can be one of the worst moments in life, or it can also be one of the most beautiful – writes the born in 1993 on social media – As everything begins, everything has an end. I thank the teams, the sponsors, the people and opponents I met on this crazy journey, who gave me the motivation to always try to surpass myself and evolve. I am happy and satisfied with my results.”

Adding that he has “realized the dreams he had as a child”, the Ligurian runner is now preparing to “explore new routes and seek new emotions”, but first he will have to face “the last effort of this season”, perhaps chasing one last victory to say goodbye in the best way.
