Serie B reiterates its opposition to the second teams

Serie B confirmed his own opposition to the so-called second teamswhich are currently three with the arrival of that of Milan to support Juventus And Atalanta in Series C, that if they were to be promoted – as required by the regulations – in the next season they could therefore find the door barred or at least a climate very keen to welcome them. This can be read in the note with which Lega B announced today that the event linked to the presentation of next season’s calendar will be held in La Spezia on 10 July. This is the part relating to the second teams in detail:

“Lega B assembly in videoconference with all the clubs present. At the opening, the president Mauro Balata greeted the new members who entered the assembly headquarters today.

Balata then reported the results of the Federal Council of last 14 June, underlining how in that meeting the League’s opposition to the second teams in Serie B was confirmed and, in the same way, the reintroduction of the institution of timeshares, mechanisms which affect the regularity and integrity of the competition, as well as violating the federal statute in the part in which it refers to the right of agreement with the interested Leagues, which was not applied at the time of the decision. Finally, Balata reiterated that the guarantee of fair competition is necessary in all decisions regarding the football system.”
