Lega Nazionale Pallacanestro communicates the overall turnout of the 2023-2024 Serie A2 Old Wild West championship. Analyzed on the basis of official SIAE data provided to LNP by the companies that took part and relating exclusively to paying spectators.

REGULAR SEASON (return trip + clock) – In the 384 matches played during the regular season, 720,218 spectators flocked to the sports halls, for a match average of 1,875. Last year there were (in 413 races) 582,914, with a race average of 1,411. It is equivalent to saying that the average number of people present at the facilities increased by +33%. While the number of teams that had a turnout higher than the average for the championship was 42%.
The record figure in the regular season was recorded on the occasion of Flats Service Fortitudo Bologna-Old Wild West Udine (6/1/2024, second round), both for the 5,545 spectators and for the takings of €95,396.

PLAYOFF, THE PUBLIC – In the 49 matches played (5 less than last year), 152,854 spectators flocked to the sports halls, for a match average of 3,119. In 2022-2023 there were (in 54 races) 129,674, for a race average of 2,401. The increase from one season to the next is +30%. That between attendance in the 2023-2024 regular season and 2024 playoffs is +66%.

PLAYOFFS, THE TOP COMPETITIONS – The match with the highest turnout was Game 3 of the final between Pallacanestro Trieste and Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù with 6,064 spectators (last year: Unieuro Forlì-Vanoli Cremona, 4,514 spectators). This is followed, again in the same series, by Race2 in Desio (6,039), G4 in Trieste (5,970) and G1 in Desio (5,965).
The Gold Final had an average audience of 6,009 spectators. Fifth given that of the G3 final between Flats Service Fortitudo Bologna and Trapani Shark (5,592). The Silver Final, between Trapani and Bologna had an average of 4,633 spectators. The overall figure for the two finals was 5,321 average spectators per single match, with a +38% compared to that of the two 2023 Finals (3,854).
It should be highlighted that there were 12 playoff games which recorded over 4,000 attendees, doubling compared to the last edition.

PLAYOFFS, THE EXCELLENCES – The team that brought in the highest average spectators in the post-season was Pallacanestro Trieste, with 5,453. Thus removing the only record not held by Flats Service Fortitudo Bologna, at 4,680. On the third step of the podium was Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù (4,236). Followed by Unieuro Forlì (3,306), Trapani Shark (2,887), RivieraBanca Rimini (2,735), Old Wild West Udine (2,603), Tezenis Verona (2,576), Gesteco Cividale (2,484) and, tenth, Elachem Vigevano (2,187).

PLAYOFFS, CAPABILITY PERCENTAGE – In the playoffs, the Club that filled its facility the highest in percentage terms was Gesteco Cividale, at 89.7%. Which confirms a record already achieved last season, again at playoff level. In second place RivieraBanca Rimini (87.7%), third Fortitudo Bologna (86.6%). Followed by Trieste (81.5%), Udine (77.0%), Trapani (66.7%), Cantù (65.1%), Treviglio (62.0%), Forlì (58.2%). Tenth Vigevano (56.2%).

PLAYOFFS, COLLECTIONS – In the playoffs the highest average revenue was that of Flats Service Fortitudo Bologna, equal to €104,726 per match. Followed by Trapani Shark (71,492), Pallacanestro Trieste (60,545), Unieuro Forlì (47,098€), Acqua S.Bernardo Cantù (44,223€), RivieraBanca Rimini (44,088), Gesteco Cividale (32,979€), Old Wild West Udine (27,179€ ), Real Sebastiani Rieti (€24,883) and tenth Elachem Vigevano (€23,155). In the playoffs the 16 participating clubs grossed €2,225,318.

SPECTATORS, THE OVERALL DATA – The 2023/2024 season saw 885,074 spectators flock to the 463 matches played in the Serie A2 facilities, for an average of 1,912 per match. Last year there were 726,391, race average 1,529. For an increase of 21.8%. The data summarizes the attendance of the regular season (home/return + clock), playoffs and salvation phase. The season just ended recorded a constant growth in the average turnout, which went from 1,863 in the home and away games, to 1,903 on the clock, up to 3,119 in the playoffs.

COLLECTIONS, THE OVERALL DATA – Combining the proceeds obtained by the 16 Clubs that took part in the playoffs (€2,225,318) with those of the regular season (€6,511,011, adding round trip + clock) and the €56,501 of the salvation phase bring the overall total income from the Clubs of the Serie A2 season at €8,792,830. Last year they were equal to €6,242,275, consequently the average collection rose from €13,141 to €18,991 (+44.5%).
