The second day of the Euro 2024 group stage began today. In the afternoon, Croatia-Albania was played, a match valid for group B (the same as Italy). In Hamburg the match ended 2-2, with the last Albanian equalizer in full injury time. The program continues with the two matches of group A: the hosts Germany beat Hungary 2-0 in Stuttgart, already ensuring qualification for the round of 16. Scotland-Switzerland in Cologne ended 1-1 (THE GROUPS AND THE CALENDAR – THE REPORT CARDS).

Germany ahead in the 22nd minute: confused action with Gundogan clashing with Orban, the ball reaches Musiala who beats Gulacsi from a few steps away. The Magyars try with Varga and Szoboszlai. At the end of the half Sallai’s goal was canceled out for Hungary due to an earlier offside by Varga. In the second half in the 67th minute the Germans doubled their lead: Mittelstadt went to the back and put a backward ball for Gundogan who crossed and scored. Germany can rejoice.

Albania takes the lead in the 11th minute: Asani crosses from the right, catching the insertion of Laci who heads it past Livakovic. Croatia raises the pace but Sylvinho’s team is very dangerous on the counterattack and in the 31st minute they almost doubled their lead with Asllani. Opportunities also for Bajrami and Manaj. In injury time in the first half, Perisic’s cross and a great save from Strakosha on Petkovic. But the Croatian striker had committed a foul earlier. In the second half Croatia enters with a completely different attitude: an immediate miracle from Strakosha on Sucic. Then opportunities for Petkovic and Sutalo. The equalizer comes in the 74th minute: Kovacic finds Budimir, ball to Kramaric, who stops and beats Strakosha with his right foot. Two minutes later the Croatians overturn it: Budimir puts it in the middle for Sucic, his shot is blocked by Djimsiti, but on the rebound the ball hits Gyasula and goes in. In full injury time, the Albanian equalized in the 95th minute: Hoxha created for Gyasula, the scorer of the own goal just before, who scored with his left foot. In Hamburg it ends 2-2.
