In home Germani Brescia the new head coach was presented to the press Peppe Poet (here are his statements). The president also spoke Graziella Bragaglio. “Thank you all for being here in large numbers, thanks to the press, and thanks to the fans. I am very pleased and I am very happy but I am also very satisfied to present this new season in the name of energy and enthusiasm and of what all Pallacanestro Brescia’s projects will be for this new and great story, and pages and pages that you are going to write and that we are all going to write together. I start with a special thank you to those who will no longer be part of this project, to those who have given so much and above all thanks go to Alessandro Magro for all the work he has done, for the great enthusiasm it created, and for the work and for having brought an Italian Cup to Brescia. But also for having left us so many Sundays in first place in the rankings, hoping that Alessandro can find the same warmth, the same enthusiasm, that he found in this club and in this city where he gave his all and where he did an important job, for us it was a great satisfaction.
Today we leave exactly 20 days after the end of the season by thanking and welcoming this new and interesting coach called Giuseppe Poeta. A bet that we made 3 years ago with Alessandro and which we want to repeat today with Giuseppe, with the opportunity to grow. He is a point guard, he is a manager of the field, a manager of the activity and of his players so I imagine that this new role of his, even if for the first time as head coach, I hope, I imagine and I am sure that he will give his best. He worked for two years at the court of the best coach and I think that’s what he learned in great silence during his work with the Armani group. Furthermore, he has had experience both as a player and as a coach of the national team and then with this character that he has anyway: handsome, exuberant and always smiling I imagine he will be able to give you a very nice atmosphere. Our club thrives on the social activity we do and I must thank all the work done by our technical manager of the Youth Sector, Gianpaolo Alberti, and I congratulate him on the title won by the Under 17 team which is not a given. A project that involves the city, which involves the sponsors and which is not only extended within our province but is also extended to Africa thanks to Germani’s work project”. And on the topic of budget, as reported by Bresciacanestro, he said: “It will be decided on July 1st, as always happens. There could be some surprises, it doesn’t mean there will have to be a downsizing. You know that surprises are not unusual in this club.”
