Even though the first three points in the group at Euro 2024 and the hard-fought narrow victory against Austria arrived, the France of Didier Deschamps has little to smile about: his champion, Kylian Mbappethe nose in the fortuitous clash against the Austrian Danso. While the news of an imminent operation had initially been spread, the French Football Federation explains that the attacker will not have to undergo any surgery and will play the next matches with a protective mask.

When will he be able to return to the field
This note, however, does not specify what the correct recovery times from the injury will be. At the end of the match, the president of the French Football Federation, Philippe Diallo, declared himself optimistic, explaining that the player will soon be able to play even without surgery. At this point we can proceed by trial and error following the French’s hypotheses: it is certain that he will miss the second match on Friday against the Netherlands in what is the match at the top but it is very likely that Mbappé will also miss the third match, the last of the preliminary round, against Poland.
According to the newspaper Le Figarothe recovery times of the number 9 cannot be less than 15 days: if that were the case, he would only return to the field from eighths of the Euro 2024 final. Pessimism reigns, however, a Rtl: the radio station has hypothesized even longer recovery times estimated at around twenty days which would also put him at risk quarters of final. Much of Mbappé’s presence on the pitch will probably also depend on the progress of the matches: if France were to manage to close the qualification process already against the Netherlands, they would certainly not be risked due to the irrelevant match against Poland.
In the round of 16, he could then start from the bench and, based on the result of the
match, Deschamps could decide last minute to risk it or not. If the doctors give the definitive OK, however, it is likely that the new Real Madrid striker will be able to be recruited from the first minute of the match.
