Dan Friedkin will be the new owner of Everton, effectively purchasing a 45% majority stake in the club

In England they were sure that today could really be the right moment, that of the official announcement. And instead it will probably take a few more days to sort out some technicalities and complete the very last stages of due diligence. The substance, however, does not change: Dan Friedkin will be the new owner of Everton, effectively purchasing 45% of the club’s majority stake (equal to 94% of Blue Heaven Holdings Limited), currently in the hands of Iranian entrepreneur Farhad Moshiri, writes Andrea Pugliese in La Gazzetta dello Sport. The value of TFG’s investment should be around 650 million euros, of which more or less 400 to cover the debts accumulated in recent years by Moshiri and which have long weighed down the club that saw Wayne’s birth Rooney. The Friedkin Group’s great opponent was the Lebanese-born entrepreneur Vatche Manoukian, at the head of a group of investors which also included – within it – the Saudi royal family. Well, in the last few hours Manoukian has practically admitted defeat, effectively leaving the field open to Dan Friedkin. “Everton fans deserve to compete for trophies again and we hope this deal will lead to success for the club on and off the pitch.”
