Aurelio Cestari, from Treviso, turns 90. AND a beautiful chapter in the history of Trevigiani in the fifties. He was part of the Italian national team at the Melbourne Olympics in 1956when Ercole Baldini won: Aurelio Cestari came 34th.

Among the hundreds of races he also won the Adriana Cup with Foltran, Pavan and Tomasin in 1952, the 1955 Italian Cup with Pavan and Zoppas, the 1955 pre-world championship in Frascati, the 1956 Tour of Slovakia, the Liberation Grand Prix , the Bologna Cup and the Okolo Slovenska.

He turned professional the following year, achieving a third place in the Giro di Lombardia. He was then second in the Agostoni Cup and won the Giro dell’Appennino. In 1962 he won the second stage of the Giro di Sicilia. In the following years he decided to mainly act as a domestique, obtaining good placings in stages of the Giro d’Italia and earning two call-ups to the Tour of France.

THE SWEATERS. In 1957 he turned professional in Mondia, Atala Pirelli Ligye, 1958-1959 Atala Pirelli, 1961-1961 Ignis, 1962-1963 Gazzola. From 1956 to 1959 he was part of the Italian national team.

He was also among the guests of honor at the presentation of the amateurs of Trevigiani Energiapura Marchiol at the Santa Caterina Museum in Treviso.
