The former Nerazzurri player impressed by Inter: “City wins every year, I think we could see something similar in Italy”
Paul Ince, spoke at The Italian Football Podcast (the link), spoke about Italy’s chances in this European Championship but above all he focused on the players of the Italian national team who are protagonists in the Inter shirt.
“Amazing stretcher? I think we use the term champion very loosely. I think Barella is a very, very good player, he has the potential to be a great player. But champion? I’m not too sure. I think he was fantastic for Inter but to be a world-class player you have to prove it at the European Championships and the World Cup. I also like Alessandro Bastoni, I think he is a top top player. I also really like Dimarco, I think he is an excellent player. I would definitely take Stretcher and Sticks for England. Especially Bastoni with the problems we have in defense, and Barella would give us a different dimension. So if you don’t mind bringing those two that would be great [ride]”, joked The Governor.
Ince sees a future in Inter as an Italian Manchester City: “When I signed for Inter with Massimo Moratti all we wanted was to win the scudetto. Even if Napoli won it last year, the dominance we have seen from Inter in the last 3-5 years is not it was something I expected. Inter just look too strong. Lautaro and Marcus Thuram keep scoring and Yann Sommer is a very good goalkeeper. In England we see Manchester City win every year, I think we could see something similar in Italy It would make me very happy and I hope it can continue for a long time.”
