Challenger Sassuolo: The Main and Qualifying Draw with tomorrow’s programme. 20 Italians at the start between Md and Quali

With the draw for the main draw, the third edition of the Emilia-Romagna Tennis Cup, the ATP Challenger 125 tournament, officially began, scheduled from Sunday 16 to Saturday 22 June on the courts of the Sporting Club Sassuolo (day tickets and season ticket for all tournament, organized by Master Group Sport in collaboration with the Emilia-Romagna Region, on sale on the Vivaticket circuit).

The draw was preceded by the delivery of the ATP kit consisting of cap, shorts and t-shirt to all the boys who will serve as ball boys during the tournament. It was then the turn of the ATP Supervisor Riccardo Ragazzini, supported by the tournament director Alessandro Motti and the president of the Sporting Club Antonio Nicolini, to proceed with the extraction of the names for the composition of the main draw whose matches will begin on Monday 17th and end with the final on Saturday 22nd June at 6pm. The number 1 seed, the Argentine Federico Coria will face the Italian Francesco Maestrelli, last edition’s finalist, in the first round, while the 2023 winner Alexandre Muller will face the Dutch Jesper De Jong. For Fabio Fognini the first obstacle will be the Frenchman Maxime Janvier, while Federico Arnaboldi will face the Spaniard Bernabe Zapata Miralles. The young talent Federico Cinà will have to face the experience of the Argentine Thiago Tirante (seeded number 8), while the Croatian Borna Coric will cross the racket with another Argentine, Juan Pablo Ficovich. In the other matches, the Korean Lee Campana will face Egor Gerasimov, while the Swede Elias Ymer will face the German Daniel Altmaier, seeded number 4. The match between the young French talent Luca Van Assche (seeded number 4) is also worth following. ) and the Argentine Roman Burruchaga, while Andrea Pellegrino will challenge the American Tristan Boyer and the Czech Jiri Vesely will challenge the Peruvian Ignacio Buse. The opponents of Giulio Zeppieri, Juan Pablo Varillas, Stefano Travaglia, Francisco Comesana will finally exit the qualifiers.

The other first round matches will see the Russian Ivan Liutarevich and the Spaniard Sergio Martos Gornes against the Brazilian Marcelo Demoliner and the Argentine Guillermo Duran, the Bolivians Boris Arias and Federico Zeballos (seeded number 3) against the Americans Ryan Seggerman and Patrick Trhac, the Ukrainian Denys Molchanov together with the Austrian Philipp Oswald against the Japanese Toshihide Matsui and Kaito Uesugi, the Argentinians Federico Coria and Roman Burruchaga against the German Andre Begemann and the Romanian Victor Cornea (seeded number 4), finally the Argentine Guido Andreozzi and the Mexican Miguel Reyes-Varela (seeded number 2) will face the Czechs Patrik Rikl and Petr Nouza.

The matches of the “doubles” tournament will begin on Monday 17th and will end on Saturday 22nd at 3:00 pm with the final on central court.
