World number one Jannik Sinner remains a topic of discussion and many even criticize his results.

During the episode of Tennis Mania on Oasport the journalist Dario Puppo questioned Sinner’s primacy and he released statements that caused quite a stir and which sparked controversy within the circuit, not only among the professionals but above all for the fans.

So far Sinner has won the Australian Open and Alcaraz has won Roland Garros, at the moment they are 1 Slam equal even if the blue is ahead in the rankings thanks to the results obtained in the rest of the season. Puppo clarified his thoughts thus:
“There is constant discussion about the Alcaraz-Sinner fight the queen Roland Garros-Wimbledon pairing in a consecutive manner has been done very few times and since Borg I remember very few. If Alcaraz succeeds, perhaps the computer is wrong. Obviously the computer does what it is told, it doesn’t decide.”
The reference is to the data calculation relating to the ATP ranking with Sinner who – in the event of a good tournament – could remain number one even in the event of Alcaraz winning Wimbledon. The Spaniard actually defends the title at Queen’s and Wimbledon and even if these two titles were confirmed he would not gain points. Unlike Sinner who only made the semifinal in the grass Slam last year.
