Caterina Bosetti did not play against the USA in today’s match won by Italy in Nations League of women’s volleyball. The spiker did not take the field in Fukuoka (Japan) and was unable to contribute to the Italians’ 3-1 success, being replaced by Alice Degradi. This is not a technical choice made by coach Julio Velasco, but a consequence of the Lombard attacker’s less than perfect physical condition.
Caterina Bosetti was kept at rest for slight calf fatigue, as reported by the federal notes released at the end of the confrontation with the Americans. It would therefore be one precautionary stop and it shouldn’t be anything seriousas coach Julio Velasco had reassured after yesterday’s victory against South Korea (the attacker had not played due to turnover, remaining off the pitch like Paola Egonu, Anna Danesi and Marina Lubian).
Italy got the better of the Olympic Champions and provisionally rose to second place in the general standings with 9 victories obtained in eleven matches played. Our national team has already qualified for the Final Eight of the prestigious international traveling tournament, as well as having secured the pass for the 2024 Paris Olympics. The Italians will return to the field tomorrow to challenge Serbia in the last match of the preliminary phase, and then travel in Bangkok (Thailand) for the knockout phase.
