In home The Molisana Magnolia Campobasso, the very young playmaker from Civitanova has earned notable minutes in the first team as a specialist on multiple fronts, with the B series she reached the very final of the second national concentration and, in the category tournaments, she achieved two championships: in Battipaglia in the under 19s and in Roseto degli Abruzzi in under 17, appearing in both cases in the best quintet of the event. And now a further certainty: that, also for 2024/25, the player from the Marche region will be among the key players both among the clubs and among the little steel flowers.
GREEN WAVE After the double experience in Turkey last summer between under 18 and under 16 (on this front with a third place finish and a nomination in the best quintet) following the semi-finals in Serie B and the scudetto in under 17 in Pordenone, the A director who comes from an artistic family, she has been able to work hard and challenge herself so much so as to obtain results after results. «The 2023/24 season was a great season for me. I managed to get some playing time in A1 among the seniors in what was a historic year for Campobasso, capable of reaching the playoff semi-finals. Then, with the youth teams, two more championships arrived and with the B series we reached the end of the national category path with the possibility of a third seasonal title.”
BASKETBALL ON MY MIND In everyone’s eyes, however, there is the notable feeling of leadership aroused by Giacchetti’s work between Roseto degli Abruzzi and Mosciano Sant’Angelo in the under 17 tricolor finals. «That – he argues – was a different scenario in which Marta and I (the Colombian Moscarella Contreras, ed.) were the designated references. There was the awareness of having many responsibilities and being a point of reference for that group was also the result of the synergy that was created with all of them and this is precisely the secret that led us to win the tricolour”.
EXPERIENCE BAGGAGE In particular, for Giacchetti, from the last season there are many aspects that will keep the rossoblù playmaker company in the path to come. «In A1 you always have a lot to learn, especially to gain experience and they are all useful ideas that have served me in the category championships and also in Serie B, because they allow you to grow».
FUTURE PROJECTION In this sense, in a process of constant refinement, the prospective objective, for Giacchetti, is well designated. «I will try to further integrate myself into the senior group with the aim of making an even broader contribution than this season and, at the same time, on the youth side there is the desire not to interrupt this streak of successes».
IN A CLOSE TURN In the meantime, just around the corner (already on Tuesday that is) there will be the start of the collegiate season with the national under 17 team which will be among the sixteen protagonists of the World Cup scheduled in Leon, Mexico between 13 and 21 July. «It will be a beautiful, demanding and at the same time educational experience and it would be truly an honor for me if, after this event, I was also able to be part of the group that will play the under 18 European Championships in Matosinhos in Portugal from 3 to 11 August. Creating such a double would make this year extraordinary.”
PERPETUAL MOTION But, in the face of all this seamless journey, it is natural to ask ourselves the secret of such an inexhaustible charge that almost makes it a dynamo in flesh and blood. «What’s the secret? No secrets. Simply the fact that basketball makes me happy and being able to obtain results and do well gives me even more desire to project myself towards a new appointment and I am happy to be able to do it with the club shirt in Campobasso and with the blue one at national level” .
