Italy’s withdrawal during the European Championships
Luciano Spalletti’s Italy stays Iserlohnin North Rhine-Westphalia.
Iserlohn, population almost 92,000, is a half-hour drive from Dortmund and an hour from Gelsenkirchen. Here coach Spalletti will prepare the matches against Spain, Croatia and Albania, the three opponents of the Azzurri in the group.
The press conference between Spalletti and Gigio Donnarumma is scheduled for 1.45pm today, Friday 14 June; training will take place at 4.30pmopen to the public only for the first quarter of an hour.
At Casa Azzurri in Iserlohn there is a museum with all the memorabilia that traces the history of the national team (here there are also the 4 World Cups and the two European Championships, the last one won in 2021 at Wembley) and a shop.
There are also concerts, such as those by Tananai, Noemi and Mr. Rain, and a culinary program (free entry, you must register with the App).
The hotel and home of the German training camp for the Azzurri is the VierJahreszeiten, equipped with meeting rooms, a spa with sauna and swimming pools.
The national team will train atHemberg Stadium, adjacent to the hotel with a grandstand with 1500 covered seats out of a total of 10 thousand. The field is grass and has 6 changing rooms and 3 bathrooms with shower.
