The championship has been over for two weeks now, but all the teams – or rather their respective clubs – are hard at work to build the foundations for next season. The best way to do it? Clearly the transfer market.
This is the right period given to sporting directors to be able to shore up or even revolutionize their squads. An objective, the latter, which seems to be precisely the one pursued by Juventus. DS Giuntoli is in fact working to score its first market coup.
But there is already talk of crazy figures that may no longer be within the reach of this Juve. In fact, to bring one of the revolutions of Serie A to Turin, Juventus would have to shell out the monstrous figure of 50 million. Here are the details.
Calafiori: 50 million may not be enough
With the departure of Alex Sandro, Danilo still in the twilight of his career and Gatti not 100% convincing, one of this Juve’s priorities will be to revolutionize the defence. This is why Giuntoli would be moving to ensure the performance of one of the revolutions of last championship: Richard Calafiori.
The Bologna footballer, born in 2002, is certainly a good investment and would be interested in wearing the black and white shirt. However, the negotiation is far from easy. In fact, what makes it almost impossible is a clause in the agreement between Bologna and Basel (the team from which the defender was purchased). In fact, the agreement establishes that the rossoblù will have to concede 50% of the profit received from its possible sale. Not a small problem, given that it would also make the figure of 50 millions insufficient for its sale.
The Basel obstacle between Juve and Calafiori
The current value of Riccardo Calafiori is around around 25 million, a figure which, due to the clause between Basel and Bologna, would transform into approximately 12.5 million each between the Emilian team and the Swiss club. This is why we are thinking about a monstrous figure of 50 million euros to be able to bring Calafiori to Turin.
