News in the technical staff of CBF Balducci HR for the season 2024/25: the new assistant coach of the orange team, which will be at the starting line of the Serie A2 championship, is coach Luca Martinelli. Marchigian from Loreto, born in 1982, he will sit alongside head coach Valerio Lionetti, thus forming a new and unprecedented pair of coaches to lead the Macerata club in the sixth consecutive season in Serie A.
For Luca Martinelli it is a return to Serie A2, a category in which he can already boast 6 seasons in the role of assistant coach between men’s (3 in Loreto and 2 in Potenza Picena) and women’s (1 in Orvieto, a team with which he reached the final promotion to A1 and in which the new orange opposition Clara Decortes played). In the last five seasons coach Martinelli has instead coached both men’s and women’s teams in the youth sector of Nova Volley Loreto in his city, also holding the role of technical director of the men’s youth sector in the past season and winning promotion with his group to Serie C. Previously, for the new orange coach there were also several seasons in Porto Recanati and Osimo, also in the Marche region, at the helm of various youth teams.
“I chose to accept the proposal from CBF Balducci HR for the ambitious project behind it and because it is a very well structured company, also from the point of view of the staff who will face the 2024/25 season, truly valuable – says the new assistant coach of CBF Balducci HR, Luca Martinelli – I thank the Orange Club for the trust and the possibility of returning to live another season at a high level, a trust that I hope to repay by achieving the objectives we have set ourselves. For my part, I will use the skills learned throughout my career and a lot of passion. I can’t wait to work closely with coach Valerio Lionetti who won so much in Conegliano: I partly know his working methods from having met him in experience in Loreto. There will be a lot of work to do because he is in the gym and with work a great team is created and goals are achieved. We know we have an excellent roster available, as do other teams in the next women’s Serie A2 championship: the difference will then have to be made on the pitch.”
