The official announcement was made by David Ferrer and Anabel Medina, selectors of the Spanish tennis teams. The two players will also be joined by Pablo Carreño, Alejandro Davidovich and Marcel Granollers. Ferrer confirmed that 38-year-old Nadal and 21-year-old Alcaraz (winner of the last Roland Garros in Paris), in addition to playing the singles tournament, they will form one of the two pairs for the doubles. “We aim to bring home more than one medal”said the Iberian captain while Spanish fans dream of gold and went wild on social media.
