The smile returns to the face of the Senigallian motorcyclist Simone Saltarelli, who conquers the third step of the podium at the 8 hours of Spa Francorchamps in Belgium in the endurance motorbike world championship. Riding the Kawasaki 1000, superstock category, of the French team 33 Louit April Moto, together with his teammates – the Frenchman Giullaume Antiga and the Spanish David Sanchis – Saltarelli brought the team into the leading group, to the point of allowing the team to conquer third place. The race took place, starting at 1pm and arriving at 9pm on Sunday, for around 200 laps of the approximately 7km long route, with average speeds close to 180km/h. “Great satisfaction to be here on the podium – highlights the Senigallian – and we could have done even better, but a technical problem at the start of the race made us go back to the pits and lose a minute and a half to solve it. We still managed to recover and win this very precious position, that’s fine.” Great euphoria in the team which is currently world champion in the category, after the bad 0 points obtained in the previous test at Le Mans due to the retirement due to a broken bike. The driver from Senigallia, born in 1985, this year too, in addition to competing in the endurance world championship, is also involved in the Italian speed championship: the world championship will return only in September while the summer will be entirely concentrated on the Italian flag, starting next weekend when the race will be held on Mugello circuit which a few days ago saw Bagnaia’s triumph in Moto GP.
