The first stage of the 2024 Rugby Europe Sevens Championship Series was played over the weekend in Makarska, Croatia, for the Italians and Italians of Seven.. A difficult weekend for Italy’s rugby sevens, with the males who nevertheless collected three successes which earned them the chance to play in the final for fifth place.
A final then clearly lost against a Portugal team that the Azzurri had beaten in the first phase. In the women’s tournamentinstead, the Italians ended the first phase with three defeats and, thus, the following victories against Ukraine and Turkey were only worth the ninth final place for the Italians. The Rugby Europe Seven Championship Series will return at the end of the month, when both national teams will play in Hamburg, Germany.
