GROSSETO – Fun and a lot of growth for the youth sector of the Grosseto Rugby club at the San Vincenzo Tournament organized by Rugby Rufus, with the addition of an applause-worthy fourth place. The Grosseto team showed up with the Under 8, Under 10 and Under 12 teams and, through ups and downs, they spent another beautiful Sunday of sport and competition, thus officially closing their year.

In group A, two victories and three defeats for the Under 8 (photo below), who beat Oltremella Brescia 6-4, battered Mugello 4-0, lost 8-2 to the famous Livorno 1931 A and lost 5-1 and 5-3 respectively against Pellerossa Noceto A and Cus Genoa. In the finals, definitive eighth place after the hard-fought 4-3 defeat against the more experienced Roma.
Arno, Mario, Filippo, Pietro, Matteo P., Matteo R. and Zeno played for the red and white team.

Also included in group A Under 10 (photo above), who scored 3-3 against Mammut Montevarchi and 4-4 against Lazio’s Barbarian Roma and Lupi Frascati, lost narrowly against Oltremella Brescia with a hard-fought 4-3 and won the duel with Rosignano with a clear 8-0. In the final phase for third place, the challenge against San Marziano, who prevailed 5-1: for the young Maremma players therefore a fourth place with their heads held high.
The Grosseto formation: Gabriele, Teseo, Leo, Mattia, Mario, Matthias and Pietro.

More bitter, but only in terms of final results, the experience of Under 12included in group B together with the catch-alls Mascalzoni del Canale and Barbarian Roma and Valdinievole, Oltremella Brescia and Montelupo, all renowned and more experienced teams, who conceded nothing on the field.
Faraci, Madeddu, Baricci, Orlando, Colannino, Pellegrini, Rossi, Sanna, Madonna and Golini took to the field for the red and whites.
All the educators Enrico Corradini, Vittorio Esposito, Valeria Comandi, Matteo Bertelli, Oscar Chechi and Mattia D’Uso were satisfied with the goals achieved and the game played. “A beautiful and challenging day – said Corradini – we bring home many emotions and above all progress and significant improvements in all categories, even compared to previous years”.
Having closed the purely competitive season, the Grosseto Rugby Club is now preparing for the sixth edition of “Rugby under the stars” scheduled for 15 and 16 June, a two days of oval ball and eating in company, complete with overnight stay in a tent at the plant in via Lazzeretti.
