Juve in third place, what is it worth: 3.5 million with the same placing as last year

Now it’s official: with Atalanta’s defeat against Fiorentina, Juventus ended the 2023-24 championship in third place, ahead of Dea and Bologna and behind Inter and Milan. It means that the Lady obtained the same placing as a year ago (net of the penalty for the capital gains issue) but with one point less (71 against 72). It also means that the Bianconeri will earn around 3.5 million euros more than they would have had if they had finished in fourth position, for a total of around fifteen million euros. Not a lot of money, but still a nest egg that can be added to the 40-50 million initial budget (net of sales) to be allocated to the market.

Champions and gaps

Juventus’ objective is to improve and lengthen the squad, making it competitive for the 5 competitions in which it will be involved next season, and consequently numerically better equipped. Thiago Motta will be entrusted with a three-year project to bring the Lady back to the top, starting however from the awareness that it may take time for him to achieve new successes. The priority, as in the season just concluded, will be placing in the Champions League, which guarantees important economic income as well as visibility, and at the same time begin to fill that 23-point gap which, at least according to the rankings, exists at the moment with the champions of Inter’s Italy.
