This edition of UCI Mountain Bike World Series with the program starting on Friday, in a location like Nove Mesto na Morave which hosts both the cross country races and the Marathon, the day is very intense, considering that there are also the two trials of the UCI Junior Series. After 12 months for the first time wearing the tricolor jersey was not the top rider of the Santa Cruz Rockshox but Giada Specia who won it at the beginning of the month in Nervesa della Battaglia.

Both the Belluno native and Greta Seiwald remained in the big group until the race exploded on the sixth lap. The Swiss Alessandra Keller lit the fuse on the penultimate lap and with a change of pace managed to break away from the group, taking several meters ahead.

In the last kilometer three came out from behind with the aim of catching the breakaway, the world champion Pauline Prevot Ferrand, the Cup leader Haley Batten and her teammate Laura Stigger.

The gap quickly closed with PFP targeting the Swiss who pedaled at 1000 per hour for 2 kilometres. When the riders showed up at the finish line, the Frenchwoman realized that she wouldn’t make it and stopped pedaling.

At 11.05am the 40 elite men set off under the sun, as in the women’s race, even among the men the route did not allow them to make a difference and all forty pedaled in a large group. Anyone who wanted to win had to stay in front, also to avoid crashes in the middle of the group.

Scott SRAM Racing team on fire in the fifth and sixth lap, first forcing Filippo Colombo and then Nino Schurter, both moved to the front but were unable to detach the other riders. On the seventh and penultimate lap both Tom Pidcock and Victor Koretzky tried to go to the front but in vain, there was too much balance. They were all together.

In the final lap Pidcock took the lead followed by Litscher and a N1NO in great shape. Then the Swiss took the lead and behind him were the two Specializeds who passed him just before the finish line when Litscher had run out of fuel.

Success of Victor Koretzky which consolidates its leadership in the Short Track World Cup after the triumph in Araxa. The blues raced on the Specialized S-Works 8 which was fitted with semi-slick gravel tyres, the Specialized Pathfinder Pro 2Bliss.
