Good morning and welcome to LIVE LIVE text of the quarter-final match of the ATP 250 in Geneva between Flavio Cobolli and the Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko. First direct comparison between the two, with the winner of the match finding one of the Argentinian Sebastian Baez and the Norwegian Casper Ruud in the semi-final.

Cobolli, a twenty-two year old born in Florence to a Roman family, comes to this event after having first overtaken the Russian Karatsev, then the American Shelton. In the first part of the competitive year, Flavio sacrificed his South American stint on clay to gain experience on North American outdoor hard courts. Encouraging results that reward the choice of the Tuscan, capable of achieving the quarterfinals in Montpellier, Delray Beach and the round of 16 in Acapulco before competing in both US Masters 1000s. Having risen to position number 56 in the ATP ranking, Cobolli has rediscovered his feeling with the European red by reaching the third round in the Masters 1000 in Madrid.

For his part, Shevchenko, a twenty-three-year-old born in Russia, reached the quarterfinals of the Swiss tournament thanks to the forfeit of the Finnish Ruusuvuori. Surprisingly beating the Hungarian Marozsan in straight sets on his debut, the Kazakh achieved his best result on clay after a less than brilliant month. Finalist in the ATP 250 in Marseille 2023, he boasts three challenger titles in his career.

The quarter-final of the ATP 250 in Geneva between Flavio Cobolli and the Kazakh Alexander Shevchenko will be the fifth match on the central court and the second of the evening session which will begin no earlier than 6.00 pm with the match between the Norwegian Ruud and the Argentine Baez. It will be possible to follow the match live on Sky Sport, and in streaming on Sky GO, NOW and Tennis TV. OA Sport will offer you LIVE LIVE written point by point of the match. Have fun and good tennis everyone!
