The trip is not prohibited, but controversy breaks out

Much ado about nothing? or a way like any other to ignite a playoff semifinal series? Tonight too, it promises to be a Cantù-Udine match worth following, also because of the match being played off the pitch.

With the president of the APU, Alessandro Pedone, protagonist in these hours of some declarations both on the refereeing of match 1 and on the measures towards the fans, for a trip that is not prohibited, but subjected to some conditions by the Observatory of the Ministry of the Interior .

As with game 1 of the A2 basketball playoff semi-final, game 2 at the PalaFitLine in Desio between Cantù and Udine will also see the guest sector of the arena empty.

This is a protest carried out by Friulian fans against the decision of the Ministry of the Interior’s Observatory on sporting events to limit the sale of tickets for the match to those who will provide their details at the time of purchase, a decision implemented for game 1 and repeated for game 2.

It is therefore not a travel ban, but a precise choice by the Udine fans. For tonight’s match, ticket sales were in fact stopped last night, Monday, at 7pm and were limited to a few ticket offices identified in agreement with the police headquarters in Udine and Monza.

Furthermore, Udine should have sent the list of names of the participants to the Monza police headquarters. The decision seems to be attributable to the presence of some supporters of Pallacanestro Varese in the guest sector in the regular season match on April 21st. The Cantù fans, for their part, expressed solidarity with the Udine fans during game 1, displaying a banner with the words “Free travel”.
